The Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy course equips speech-language pathologists and related professionals with evidence-based techniques to assess and treat orofacial myofunctional disorders based on age and diagnosis. It covers anatomy, physiology, and the application of manual therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, motor exercises, neuromuscular taping, and adjunctive devices. Álvaro Daniel Paredes is a skilled Speech and Language Pathologist with a specialization in pediatric swallowing and orofacial motor disorders. He holds a degree from the University of Valparaíso, a Master's in Educational Management, and a Postgraduate degree in Swallowing Disorders from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the European Society for Swallowing Disorders. An international lecturer, Álvaro has taught courses on pediatric swallowing and orofacial motor disorders in countries including Ecuador, Spain, and Mexico. His research, published in the Journal "Integral Rehabilitation", includes studies on tongue strength in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the use of Onabotulinum toxin A for drooling in children with cerebral palsy.
